Touchdown at LogiMAT
It has been the highlight of the year to date in the logistics sector: LogiMAT 2024 in Stuttgart. For decades, the trade show has been bringing companies from all over the world together to present the latest trends and innovations. Exhibitors included the team from Schreiner ProTech that impressed the audience with hands-on examples and professional knowledge.
However, the first eye-catcher at the booth was a cardboard character. The life-size standup display of a football player vividly symbolized the essence of Robust RFID technology developed by Schreiner: “That ’s practically our linebacker that always comes into play when the going gets tough and a solid shield is needed,” explains Katharina Totev, Product Manager RFID at Schreiner ProTech tonguein- cheek. “The Robust Label has a unique structure protecting the sensitive RFID chip against mechanical stress such as impacts, so ensuring continuous, reliable readability.”
The technology protecting the RFID chip was originally developed for pharmaceutical applications where for years it has been successfully used to RFID-mark containers such as vials and syringes by the Schreiner MediPharm business unit (see page 16). Now the specialty label that’s not only particularly robust but also thin and extremely flexible has been modified to suit the special requirements in industrial settings and met with keen interest by trade show visitors.
Visitors also showed interest in the solutions for smart container management. A small forklift truck demonstrated what benefits the DistaFerr Labels from Schreiner ProTech offer to intralogistics. “Trade show visitors thought it was great,” said Timo Schempp, Sales Manager at Schreiner ProTech, “to get a hands-on impression and try out how our labels work perfectly even on metallic substrates and how they can be integrated into a track & trace system for example. Because those are issues that keep occurring in logistics or intralogistics settings.”
Another aspect of interest to companies at LogiMAT was the major subject of security. With a proprietary Hardware Security Module Schreiner ProTech offers a reliable solution ensuring that customers enjoy high levels of security and integrity of their RFID applications. The experts answered the questions of the interested trade show audience with solid technical knowledge: from the right security chip to comprehensive support for encrypted programming to proper safekeeping of cryptographic keys. “I like the idea of interaction at Schreiner. The merging of high-tech label production paired with proprietary RFID know-how. That and the professional communication on a level playing field makes the collaboration with the team of Schreiner ProTech so pleasant and productive,” summarized Manuel Geeler, CEO of Swiss RFID integrator Identech AG.
LogiMAT 2024 was a resounding success for Schreiner ProTech. The event provided the perfect platform for exchanging new ideas while the product portfolio and the team’s commitment underscored the company’s position in RFID technology. Touchdown, Schreiner ProTech!
