High Tech At Close Range:
Open House Event

30 years have passed since Schreiner Group’s forward-thinking move to its current headquarters on Bruckmannring in Oberschleissheim. To celebrate this anniversary, the high-tech company this spring not only opened its gates to all visitors but concurrently hosted an on-site job speed dating event for applicants. More than 1,300 visitors made the double-header event in the north of Munich a resounding success.

“Every time I’m here it’s fascinating to see how much Schreiner Group has grown over the past 30 years. It’s now the biggest company in our community,” says Oberschleissheim’s First Mayor Markus Böck. Together with his counterpart from Unterschleissheim, Christoph Böck, he was one of our guests. Both were personally welcomed by CEO Roland Schreiner, who represents the third generation at the helm of the family-owned company, and his father, Senior Shareholder Prof. h. c. mult. Dr. h. c. Ing. Helmut Schreiner. “Schreiner Group is one of the most important employers in our region,” said Christoph Böck. “It’s great to see not only the high-tech shopfloor here on-site but also the company’s commitment to society and sustainability with my own eyes.”

Schreiner Group is currently implementing a heat pump project with a value of more than five million euros with which the company is going to save 90 percent gas starting in the second quarter of 2023. That enables Schreiner Group to achieve climate-neutral production this year in line with its sustainability goal. The heat pumps as well as the huge high-tech production machines and the innovation hotbed—visitors had the opportunity to personally see all that.

Tote Printing
Younger and older visitors alike had the opportunity to see on-site how screen printing works, print their own tote, and take it home.

Plant Tour
Who would have thought that the production of such small labels takes such large printing machines? During shopfloor tours visitors were able to see how Schreiner Group’s products are made.

Cafeteria
At the organically certified cafeteria, visitors were treated to various meals relating to Schreiner Group’s international plants in Europe, the United States, and China.

The information booths showcasing products and developments such as the fine-dust sticker, RFID labels, and printed electronics met with strong interest of the more than 1,300 visitors as well. Many guests were fascinated by the speech of Senior Shareholder Helmut Schreiner about Schreiner Group’s history. Based on many anecdotes, the managing shareholder from 1974 to 2012 told how the family business had developed in the past decades. Afterwards, the guests were invited to go to the organically certified cafeteria and enjoy meals relating to the company’s international plants in the United States, China, and Europe such as hot dogs, spring rolls, and pork roast.

The job speed dating event was particularly successful. The innovative format encouraged applicants to easily get to know Schreiner Group. Potential candidates presented themselves in a relaxed atmosphere on both days. “As a hidden champion, we often see that people don’t know our name,” said Roland Schreiner. “But an event as successful as the one this weekend shows that we’re absolutely perceived as a modern high-tech company.”
