2022 FINAT Awards:
Schreiner with Triple Win

In June 2022, the self-adhesive label community met for its annual conference at which the European Association of the Self-Adhesive Label Industry (FINAT) also recognizes the best products. For Schreiner Group, the 2022 FINAT Awards were a resounding success: in addition to three first-place awards for products entered by the company, the Robust RFID-Label from Schreiner MediPharm was recognized with the main award in the overall Innovation & Electronic Printing group.

Not all labels are created equal. That may sound trivial considering the fact that specialized high-tech labels are Schreiner Group’s routine business. The industry recognizes the company’s innovative prowess as well. Two of Schreiner Group’s products that won recognition in the 2022 FINAT Awards are unthinkable without the forward-thinking technologies of RFID and printed electronics: the Robust RFID-Label from Schreiner MediPharm not only scored the top spot in the prestigious Innovation category but also claimed the main award in the overall Innovation & Electronic Printing group. The film heater from Schreiner ProTech was awarded first place in the Electronic Printing category.

CEO Roland Schreiner is delighted about the four FINAT awards showing that Schreiner Group’s innovative products find high recognition in the marketplace.

The Robust RFID-Label features a unique and innovative design: The special construction of the label protects the integrated RFID chip against damage, for instance by mechanical stress or impact. The business unit won yet another accolade: the Light-Protection-Label that helps protect light-sensitive medications against UV radiation and blue light was recognized with first place in the Pharmaceuticals category.

For Schreiner ProTech, the FINAT Awards proved highly successful as well. In the Electronic Printing category, the film heater claimed the top spot. The product ensures reliable and permanent ice removal from the sensors of camera, Radar or LiDAR systems for driving safety even at sub-zero temperatures. Because it is based on printed electronics, it is extremely flat and flexible. “High-tech solutions are becoming increasingly important in the label industry,” says Dr. Jens Vor der Brüggen, who is in charge of research and development at Schreiner Group. “As a pioneer in this field, we’re delighted to see that this innovation meets with such high recognition in the marketplace as well.”
